@CityGirl212718: For everyone who constantly says, “Even her lawyer said she did it,” let’s get some facts straight. No, he did not. Before trial, Kevin Reddington fought to BIFURCATE the case. He wanted the Commonwealth to first have to prove that Lindsay committed the acts before he was forced to present a lack-of-criminal-responsibility defense. Judge Sullivan denied him. Reddington even explained the problem in court: once bifurcation was denied, he had an obligation to present evidence consistent with lack of criminal responsibility, and doing so would inevitably implicate criminal liability. In other words, he knew exactly what would happen: people would hear him argue lack of criminal responsibility and assume, “Even her lawyer admits she did it.” And unfortunately, that is exactly what happened. Lindsay did NOT plead guilty. She did NOT admit guilt. Judge Sullivan specifically instructed the jury that Lindsay DENIED guilt, was presumed innocent, and the Commonwealth still had the burden of proving she committed these crimes beyond a reasonable doubt. Reddington had to defend her within the structure Sullivan gave him. That does not mean Reddington believed she killed her children. In fact, his actions and his own words tell you otherwise. He spent the trial ripping apart the investigation and Patrick’s narrative. Outside court, Reddington described Lindsay as a “marvelous, sweet, innocent person.” And when asked about Patrick? “I wouldn’t believe him if I was sitting in the middle of a blizzard and he told me it was snowing.” So no, “even her lawyer said she did it” is simply false. Lindsay denied guilt. Reddington fought BEFORE trial to make the Commonwealth prove she committed the acts separately from the question of criminal responsibility. When he lost that fight, he defended her within the legal framework he was given. And after hearing all the evidence, Kevin Reddington called Lindsay Clancy INNOCENT. Maybe it’s time people actually listen to what her lawyer said.
