After a cross-country move for a new, sedentary office job (complete with comped lunches and endless snacks) that is so demanding it left me stopping exercise, relying on fast food after work, and letting my weight spiral out of control… I’ve unfortunately put on 140 pounds and a 70-inch belly at just 32-years-old. My doctors have determined the unique way in which almost all of my weight gain has collected in just my gut isn’t due to any underlying issues or illness; I have a bizarre and extreme genetic predisposition to gain almost all of my fat just in my abdomen. This localized weight gain, combined with how rapidly it was put on, also caused my cortisol, estrogen, and prolactin levels to skyrocket, further contributing to this extreme body type. Follow me to hear more about my transformation, see my struggles in my daily life managing a belly this big, reactions from strangers and people in my life, and hopefully my journey back to before.
