They need to do everything manually first at least for a few months to a year. This helps them build that discernment you talk about so when they do finally transition those boring tasks to AI they know what needs to be fixed if it breaks from whatever reason. It’s also super helpful for them once they start to think about unique AI use cases as they gain more experience.

A junior can still build judgment by evaluating, correcting, system thinking and directing AI output. AI doesn't remove the reps, only the definition of reps will change.
The only question is how the education system and companies will redesign training. We should talk about that instead of AI anxiety.
