Okay so basically the primordial beings are born from Chaos, the void. They are, Nyx-night, Gaea-earth, Erebus-darkness, Eros-love, and Tartarus-monsters. Of course after the Trojan War, a son of Aphrodite, Aeneas, provided a bloodline with princess Lavinia of modern day Italy. His descendants, twin brothers Romulus and Remus (children of Ares/Mars and a mortal woman Rhea Silvia) were the ones who built Rome, naming it after Romulus. The Romans and Alexander the Great defeated Greece and made it Roman territory. The Greek gods became the Roman gods. Ideals changed. Names changed.
