There's a well-known speaker on near death experiences and he tells the story of his pre-birth arrival. He tried to come once and when the veil was lowered, it was so brutal that he backed out and the lady had a miscarriage. So he went back to the spirit world, and he practiced incarnating and having the veil come down upon him so that he could incarnate and not chicken out again. This is an amazing concept of people preparing to take on the veil because it’s so dark and you forget who you are and a lot of souls freak out obviously.
