That gives us a glimpse of how reproduction can exist without sexes. Evolution didn’t begin with a male or a female. Much simpler organisms existed first, and over huge amounts of time, different reproductive systems evolved. Male and female reproduction came much later in some lineages. So saying “women existed first” misses the bigger evolutionary picture. Neither men nor women were the original form of life.
