She described adding the liquid part of her menstrual flow to moon water, speaking intentions over it, and leaving the jar on a windowsill for months. When she finally checked it, green, plantlike material had appeared. She did not know exactly what it was—she even wondered whether it could be mold—but the resemblance sent women back into the Voynich pages with a different question. @athousandveils proposed the parthenogenesis connection. She linked the manuscript’s women, red roots, green water, tube-like anatomy, strange plants, and zodiac timing to the possibility that it records female generation without fertilization, while calling it an unfolding theory. @hellirunna took that reading further through her Moon Blood series, framing the manuscript as a women-made lunar period tracker: the bathing women as participants, the zodiac wheels as timing, and the plant pages as outcomes recorded across cycles. Now read the images as a sequence. The women could represent bodies, practitioners, cases, or stages in a cycle. The zodiac wheels could mark timing or conditions. The green pools become the medium. Tubes move material. Jars hold it while it changes. The impossible plants stop looking like species and start looking like outcomes. Body or material → timing → water → transfer → incubation → result. One procedure, repeated across different sections of the same book. That repeating pattern pulled me toward a much older creation story. In 1945, near Nag Hammadi in Egypt, a buried collection of ancient Gnostic writings was discovered. Across those texts, Sophia(Greek for Wisdom)appears as a divine figure tied to creation, the material world, and the light within it. In one creation account, her light enters water and living form appears. I am not saying the Voynich is a Gnostic book or that Sophia translates its script. The connection is the logic underneath both: an existing creative spark enters a medium, conditions are arranged around it, and form emerges. Maybe these pages are not showing women manufacturing life from nothing. Maybe they record the conditions under which living potential expresses itself. That is why the menstrual cycle matters to this reading. Blood, moon or astrological timing, water, plants, vessels, and transformation are not random symbols when they keep appearing inside the same system. They can be read as the moving parts of a generative procedure and possibly as embodied knowledge protected in pictures because the text was coded or meant for a specific community. The jar is not scientific proof, and the green material has not been identified in a laboratory. But folio 21r is the exact Voynich page used in the comparison. A clue is not a conclusion; it can still tell us where to look. The rete ovarii is one brief modern echo: described in 1870, later called vestigial and omitted from modern textbook diagrams, then studied again in mice in 2025 with evidence of transport and secretion. Its function in adult humans remains unknown. This is still my theory, not an accepted translation. But I cannot unsee the process now: women, cycle, timing, water, transfer, vessels, transformation, result.
