6 months pp here. The best piece of advice I got was your baby isn’t giving you a hard time, they’re having a hard time. There will be sleepless nights, fussy days, and just when you think you’ve figured out their cries there will be a new one for everything. Just remember it’s baby’s first time living too and they have no idea what’s going n on. My son is teething and went 3 days refusing to sleep if he wasn’t being held. I was exhausted and frustrated but remember you are their comfort. They spent 9 months safe and warm and never needed anything. Now all the sudden they’re cold, hungry, tired, overstimulated, gassy, uncomfortable, and scared. It really does go by so fast and the nights feel slow. It’s the most amazing thing. Give yourself grace, you’ll figure out what works for you and your family.

If you plan to breastfeed the hospital staff will tell you, you don’t need to pump or use a pacifier the first 6-8 weeks. They exclusively want you to breastfeed…… 3 nights in, nothing was working and my baby kept crying. The pacifier was a life saver. (My OB literally had her baby 3 months prior from mine and she told me she gave her baby the pacifier on day 4 🤣). I pump and turns out I was producing enough. So I have had to do have formula have breastfeed until my milk supply finally came on week 6. Ooo yeah, not every automatic produces enough breast milk after giving birth and it can take between 6-13 weeks to get your full milk supply. Every momma is different, trust your guts and enough every second with the baby.

ftm here also! my little man is 9 months! just know someone else’s “normal” will NOT be your “normal” all babies grow and change differently! even when you feel like your best isn’t enough , it is! newborn tiredness is no where near as bad as pregnancy tiredness (imo)! you’ve got this!

You and your baby get to take up space. Don’t be self conscious about taking them out in public. If they cry, just do your best. Everyone judging used to be a baby too

8 weeks PP here. You can go down a rabbit hole quick with all the stuff in social media, try to stay level headed. Our baby doesn’t follow any of the “wake windows” they put out there. Also people getting 6-8 hour stretches of sleep is not the normal.

I wish they told me how to get my baby on a routine/schedule.. and how to properly put them down for a nap so they don’t wake up when I lay them down.

that if you plan to breast feed, prepare to pump every 2-3 hours for your foreseeable future. Use it or lose it type thing. If you go longer than 4 hours at a time you run risk of clogged ducts and mastitis. That shit hurts. I'm 9 weeks postpartum, still learning
