@catekettner: 🚨 THIS IS THE HOLY GRAIL OF NAIL GLUE. 🚨 I’m not exaggerating when I say I will NOT use anything else for my press-on nails. 💅 This is the semi-solid nail glue from CurvLife and it has a gel-like consistency, but it does NOT require a UV light to cure. And when I prep my nails correctly? My press-ons can last up to 30 DAYS. 😳 If your press-on nails are popping off after a few days, it’s time to upgrade your nail glue, and the way your nail prep is done. Here are the 4 steps I swear by for long-lasting press-on nails: 1️⃣ ROUGH UP YOUR NATURAL NAIL Use a nail file to gently remove the shine from the surface of every nail. Your natural nail should NOT be smooth. This is SO important because the glue needs something to grip onto. Skip this step and your glue can dry perfectly… but your press-on may still pop off within a few days. 2️⃣ CLEAN WITH 100% ACETONE After filing, use 100% acetone on a cotton round to thoroughly clean every nail bed. This removes all the filing dust AND starts dehydrating your natural nail. ⚠️ Skip the “gentle” acetone formulas with nourishing oils. You WANT your nail completely free of oils before applying your glue. 3️⃣ USE A NAIL DEHYDRATOR I personally love OPI Bond Aid. Apply it to each nail to help remove any remaining oil and moisture from the nail plate. This step makes a HUGE difference in how well your press-ons adhere. 4️⃣ APPLY YOUR GLUE CORRECTLY This is my personal preference, but I put a small amount of glue on the press-on nail AND my natural nail, then let it sit for about 20–30 seconds before placing the press-on. Once I place it, I gently hold it down for another 20–30 seconds. ⚠️ This glue is STRONG, so keep cotton pads and acetone nearby in case any glue squeezes out around the edges. 💅 BONUS STEP: This isn’t mandatory, but whenever I’m putting on a fresh set, I personally like to soak my hands first and clean/trim my cuticles. And THAT is my at-home press-on nail routine. No expensive nail salon appointment. No constantly replacing nails every few days. Just proper nail prep + the right products + a little patience.
