@jamesaalongman: One of my best friends is a US political nut. He’s worked on American political campaigns, and follows this stuff like almost no one I know. These are his predictions for the upcoming 🇺🇸 senate midterms for some of the most important states: North Carolina, Michigan, Maine, Ohio, Iowa, Texas, Kansas and Nebraska. What do you think will happen? #news #trump #midterms

If Talarico wins Texas it’ll restore my faith in Texans but they’ve fumbled so many great candidates like Beto O’Rourke and Collin Allred so I’m not holding my breath.

It’s nuts to me that someone could see the last two years and say “yeah, more of that please”

Very interesting, I think the republicans will do better than everyone thinks!! Personally, I would love to see the democratics hammer the republicans (just to try and bring some type of order to the USA). As the world is tired of listening or looking at Trump, what a disaster.

Gubernatorial is the correct adjective to describe state governor elections. My pedantry couldn't let that go 😂

Using Australia as a comparison, the previous right wing govt was SO bad that they fell, not to second place, but THIRD place. (Similar to the UK, when the new Reform Party there religated the conservatives to third place.) I wonder if some US maverick will start a new far right party that displaces the GOP?

We can thank Mamdani for a lot of this, none of this enthusiasm came until he became mayor.

Ken Paxton is the craziest choice the Republicans could’ve picked. If they had picked a regular, moderate Republican, they would win. They’ll lose to Talarico

Hope the Republicans get obliterated. However, with 2024 in mind, we’re dealing with American voters. Not going to get my hopes up.

American politics really interests me & this was fantastic to watch!! I really think there will be a blue tsunami (i think they call it that), sadly though even with winning both houses the democrats will still only be able to do so much, as the likes of impeachment needs 2/3s of the house so would need at least a 65/35 split, which isn’t possible!! I also think the much of the international damage the republicans have done will take much much longer to repair if even possible
