Wow. why do you guys make religion so difficult to understand. When the ALMIGHTY clearly says the Quran is made easy for all mankind to understand. I think most scholars are under threat because they bilelieve the Quran is only for them to understand.

You dont have to spend 13 years to kmow that. NOTHING wlrthwhile reads isolation, however one cannot deny that reading the Quran in isolation tend to make one less radical then reading Hadith verses in isolation

you are absolutely right. but these imams and ustads think otherwise for the simple reason they do not have intellectual discernment. sadly they lack such capacities. hence unwittingly Islam is being vandalized by them. unfortunately they think they are right. the revelation given by God to Rasullullah was then the most progressive one. look at it now, literally being dragged back to the 9th century. and the ummah blindly follows. sad very sad 😢

You have to read verses and hadiths literally unless they are allegorical. Some verses can't be understood out of context. You need to read what comes before or after a particular verse or understand the events upon which the verses were revealed. So reading literally is a different issue than reading out of context. I would like to add "The literalist approach to Islamic jurisprudence and exegesis in Al-Andalus (Muslim Spain) is represented by the Zahiri school of thought. While the region was overwhelmingly dominated by the Maliki school, the literalist tradition flourished under the pioneering leadership of the Andalusian scholar Ibn Hazm of Córdoba (994–1064 CE)." I think that the Muslim world suffers from ignorance and the ease with which opinion can be manipulated, often with the help of religious scholars that participate in the manipulation.

Well, the quran was revealed to a dessert ummah of the 7th century Arabia. The message was supposed to be simple and straight forward. Otherwise no one would understand the message back then. It was later when people started to think of the message as non-literal: Jihad no longer armed struggle. Hijrah no longer taking refuge, fleeing from persecutions. I even started to hear people arguing "salah" is not bowing and prostrating 5 times a day. I think, avoiding the literal meaning of the Quran as it was sent down to the 7th century Arabian dessert people would actually create a problem. Quran message was very literal and straight forward, it was given to a simple dessert people for them to immediately understand the message. No phylosophical meaning attached. 😂
