Spoiler: As a person who re-read the book 2 hrs before the movie, im lwk disappointed how they werent too true to the book; no Holden, no tom punch, no BIOLOGY NINJA shirt, no wednesday dates, no anger love confession, and malcolm knowing it was all fake.

I loved the movie! but I was so disappointed, a lot of good scenes was missing and other details, and HOLDEN omg. Also, they changed a lot of things and it felt a bit rushed, it was good but I was kinda disappointed 😞

Is this a safe space to say while I enjoyed the movie there were two scenes that rub me the wrong way… I don’t like that Adam is the one who tells her”to have the confidence of a mediocre white man” because he himself is a white man and I liked that Aslan is the one to give her that pep talk. Also in the book Olive works hard to be accepted into the conference and I feel like it diminished her hard work as a scientist when Tom is the one who gets her to spot… oh and the bathroom scene when women where saying that she only got there because of Adam instead of Tom… like a great movie but these changes take away from the Women in STEM girl power that the book had. Also I agree with the other comments that it felt a little rushed. I said that out loud last night and my husband said “well yeah it’s a movie they can’t drag it out”. Again a great movie but lowkey slightly disappointed especially when everyone was raving that is was almost identical… idk I loved it but feel a little let down
