That’s what happened to jimmy neutron. All the stuff was kept in a basement below sealevel, they had it get flooded then they couldn’t remake any of it. That’s why we got planet sheen💀

3D models in old ass software no longer is compatible so they have to remake everything from scratch lol. Most animaters aren't even around that did the 1st 4 films lol

I’m an animator. Only thing I can think of is that the software they used to create the original is longer available in the state it was in when they did it before. Makes it difficult to recreate that older style so they went with something they could create

Fake. This BS has been spread around for ages. Pacific Data Images (original studio) being shut down didn't lose any ability to recreate the style. It was always a corporate decision from DreamWorks to do cheaper animation rendering technique

Back then animation was mostly coded. Both movement and textures, designs, etc. They didn’t have programs like this where you create a 3D model with a tablet and every frame is on a timeline instead of text and number code. That’s why

Different artists are better at different things. Shrek has always leaned on a more naturalistic animation style, animated more like real people than cartoons, not many animated movies do this, most follow the traditional principles of animation in line with Disney.
