he should not be required to pay for anything cuz it ain't his fault. the machine malfunctioned. that's the banks responsibility to make sure their machine or running properly and maintained. it's not the guy's fault if their machine was $500 short That could have been from a previous withdrawal before the malfunction of the machine cuz the man wasn't stealing money cuz he obviously reported the issued not just to the banks but alerted authorities about it as well
