@lwart.808: Chapter II: The Tabia Stage After finishing the carving, we move to an essential stage called Tabia. Tabia consists of adding wooden bands, about 1 cm high, shaped to follow the geometric lines of the carved panel. These bands frame the pattern and give the panel an extra decorative and architectural dimension. This traditional method assembles the decorative elements into a complete and balanced geometric composition. The artisan uses carefully cut wooden strips that follow the Tnashri pattern with Miyajm, respecting the proportions and symmetry of the design. Tabia takes place in two sub-stages: • Lqwatae (The Cut Pieces) – Rectangular wooden elements are assembled to form the structural base of the motif. • Lkhyata (The Stitching) – Literally “sewing,” this step connects, adjusts, and binds the wooden strips together, strengthening the structure and finalizing the pattern. #architecture #artisanat #morocco🇲🇦 #woodworking #carvedwood
