We read all 571 early-career tech openings in Singapore on our board this afternoon. 466 of them name no years of experience at all. 105 name a number. 70 set a floor. 35 set a ceiling - and 13 of those are a hard cap, which means the employer will turn you down for having too much. GovTech's Technology Associate Programme, all four tracks: "less than one year of work experience". J.P. Morgan's 2027 Software Engineer Program, Summer Analyst: "less than 2 years of experience". Blackstone's 2027 Technology & Innovations Analyst Intern: "no more than one year of full-time work experience". Apple's Software Engineer, Apple Online Store: "Less than 3 years of working experience". Every line re-read on the employer's own page today. And when they do ask for a minimum, they ask for one year - 55 of the 70. Nobody on the board asks for more than three, and one opening in 571 asks for that.
