I used to say this to my 2 daughters and then I lost my 16 year old in 2024 my 25 year old daughter when I am gone from this world will face it alone I apologise to my eldest daughter all the time for her sister being gone even tho I know it’s not my fault I still say to my eldest daughter I have you a sibling so so when my time in this world comes to an end you will lean on each other for support as only you 2 share memories of me as your mother but now my baby girl who still lives will face my death alone without the 1 person she should have had beside her we teach our kids to lean on each other when we are gone because that’s the natural order but in my case it breaks my soul to know my 25 year old daughter will one day have to mourn me as well as her younger sister😔💔💔

Instead of this, teach your children to be independent, resilient, and capable of standing on their own. There are so many families with only one child, and as parents, we need to prepare them for a life where we may no longer be around. Raise your child to be strong enough to face life, make their own decisions, and never feel helpless or dependent on someone else to get by. And for those who have multiple children, don’t romanticize the idea of depending on siblings. Having brothers and sisters doesn’t guarantee that they will always be there or be able to provide support. Teach every child to stand on their own, because independence is one of the greatest gifts a parent can give.
