I think it’s important to be wise in the way we help to ensure it’s not actually hurting them in the long run or encouraging codependency. If you know someone will buy crack if you give them money, give them food. Give them gift cards for gas. Give them what they need without feeding their dysfunction.

i think if you don't feel good about giving money, buy them a meal! if they refuse the meal, that's on them, but God sees your heart. even if you do give them money, what they do with it is not on you!
