Single mom isn’t just about being home without your partner. Your partner is out providing income, insurance, 401k, stability. Single moms have to work triple over time every week to provide all those things while paying for childcare as well and doing all that alone. You have support and stability on the back burner bc he’s out doing all that. Single moms do not, they often work all day come homes ur kids to bed and work midnights too just to get by. It’s not just about being home alone with your kids

I don’t see it as a single mom, definitely solo mom. Single parent gets absolutely no support financially, physically or emotionally.

My husband goes to work at 11 am and gets home about 1-2 am. I go to work about 7 am. I don’t see home some days but I would never consider it a single mom just a dad that supports his family.

Totally get what you’re saying but I think single mom refers to no support for a spouse financially, physically or emotionally. Solo would be just no support physically. I think the moms that are rocking out completely on their own feel strongly about the difference!

I think because solo parenting is what you are doing. A single parent doesn’t have a partner to rely on for another income and typically they are not together.. I get what you are saying, believe me, I live that life too. I’ve lived both and they are definitely different. I’m not offended, I just know where people get that from.

My husband worked out of town all week home on weekends. We have three kids. All grown now, but back then I absolutely called myself a single mama.

It's not easy and not for the weak . My husband is blue collar heavy equipment operator. worked out of state for the past 2 years finally home now working! We have 3 kids . 18,16 and 10 .

I’ve always said married but single. I had 3 kids and a husband who drives truck. He was gone weeks at a time. I get ya girl.
