In Iran, same model, with a difference, the U. S. is not in the same economic position as before, heavyly endebted.

it was NOT capitalism it was scientific management theory. The idea that everything to be reduced to scientific analysis was common to both capitalism and socialism.
This guided both sides in the Cold War.

What we are ignoring the genocide of Korea? FFS! We are still occupying half of Korea today! We even brought in Unit 731from Japan to launch biological attacks on the Korean people! Today! South Korea literally rounds up the disabled and has them enslaved on Sinui Island.

I want to say that in a more aligned timeline, you have constructed a reading list for all cabinet members… with books like this highlighted as *required* for secretaries of state and defense. But if we are going to pick aligned timelines I’d choose the one where we have already evolved past our current form of governing!

I think it was by design. We didn’t intend to win at all. It was a big money grab by the military industrial complex.

Capitalism did not lose us the war in Vietnam. We lost for a variety of reasons. 1: Not having a clear objective, plan, and follow through to the end. 2: Not allowing the right people to orchestrate the war. 3: Discord and cultural shift on the home front 4: And ultimately not having a sufficient reason for being at war in the first place.

I think Trump is returning to this playbook with Iran. He thinks a bigger military is all it takes to capture the country he wants. Like Vietnam, Iran has the home-field advantage and difficult terrain. Plus a strong will to protect themselves at any cost. I also think Iran's leaders are smarter than Trump and his band of fools.
