You need them to put a drain into your whole area and let it stay open and drain for a long time till it stops draining and no more pus and fluid. Then the surgeon will close it up completely. My husband has the same thing.

you need to get it open, cleaned and packed so it drains properly, they are going to mess you up with these antibiotics. ask to see a dermatologist

iodine can be strong if the hole is big. if you have kidney or thryoid issues you shouldnt use iodine

Get a seton fitted to keep it open. Every 3 weeks my husband was having to have antibiotics from fistula. The only thing that’s helped is seton fitted to keep it open.

You are honestly such a strong person. Hoping you push through 🙏🙏🙏. I’m hoping the abscess gets drained naturally. I just had a fistulotomy 4 days ago. Is this something you’re on the list for??

one totally stupid thing I found with my bidet bottle - for the love of god, get a bottle brush and give it a good soap clean once in a while AND let it dry out. After a while of not doing this I realised the bottle was horribly mouldy inside. Felt like a proper idiot 🤦♀️

I feel so so sorry for you. I’m a wheelchair user and getting something like this is one of my biggest anxieties overall. You’re doing so well. I really hope the surgery is the answer for you in the end.
