These two little girls in Varanasi had no idea… but they changed something deep inside me. They shifted how I see motherhood, and how I see myself as a woman. Varanasi is known as the city where people go to die. A place of endings and beginnings, death and rebirth. And that day, something in me did die. A part of me. The part that believed I was running out of time. The part that thought my worth as a woman was tied to having a partner or becoming a mother before a certain age. At 31, that fear is real. I remember thinking, “I wish I already had someone to build a family with.” Even while traveling, teaching, and living a life that looked so full, deep inside, I still carried that ache of “What if it never happens for me?” But that day in India, I saw two little girls, barefoot, radiant, laughing amidst poverty, and something shifted. I felt my heart open in a way I hadn’t before... I cried so much on that day when I thought, “One day, I could adopt a child like them... I could give love, I could give a home. I could take them out of poverty” And in that moment, I realized motherhood isn’t only about giving birth. It’s about giving love. It’s about creating life, nurturing others, birthing art, ideas, healing, and beauty into the world. That day in Varanasi, my limiting beliefs around womanhood and motherhood died. And something new was born: a deeper understanding that I am already whole. That my life is already meaningful, already full of love, with or without a partner, with or without a child. And this is what I help women do through my coaching: To release the old stories that say, “You’re late. You are not enough
