@techniahqrobot: Could having a human partner become optional in the future? It sounds extreme, but look at what companies like AheadForm are building. This is Origin F1. It’s a desktop bionic robot designed for long-term human interaction. Its head, eyes and face use 26 degrees of freedom. It can blink, move its eyes, change its expression and react while speaking. It can see you, recognize faces, listen to your voice and respond through AI. AheadForm is also working on persistent memory, so future versions could remember previous conversations instead of treating every interaction like the first one. And their Elf Xuan robot pushes the physical side further. Its face has more than 30 degrees of freedom, with silicone skin designed to move with subtle facial expressions. Now imagine where this goes after another ten or twenty years. An AI companion could remember your daily life, learn how you communicate, recognize your mood, talk whenever you want and exist physically in the same room. My attention keeps going to the face. Once a machine can maintain eye contact, remember you and respond with small expressions, interacting with AI starts to feel very different from typing into a screen. That doesn’t mean human relationships disappear. But having a human romantic partner may no longer be the only form of companionship people choose.#AheadForm #AICompanion #SocialRobots #HumanRobotInteraction #Robotics
