Im actually not interested in your opinion if why you should partake in a culture that isnt yours. Tired of seeing non punjabis take bhangra and giddha and feel at liberty to mold it into “their own”. Its not “gatekeeping” the culture; its literally seeing people partake in it who have no relation to the actual meaning of it. You didnt grow up doing giddha or bhangra but because you think its cool you feel comfortable leading and teaching it to yourselves and claiming it as your own. You never see punjabis doing garba or other styles of dancing why is that? We appreciate our own culture and dont try to pass it off as ours. If a bunch of non gujratis started doing garba and performing it in comps etc youd be annoyed too. None of yall stood up for kisaans or 1984, so u can sit this one out.

In Punjabi and I think this is really dumb that Gujarati can't enjoy Punjabi culture. I love going to Garba too. I think of it as different parts of Indian culture that we all can enjoy and it's really fun seeing Michael Gujarati friends dance at my wedding too when I had it the only thing that would annoy me is try to become a bhangra guru or something and they're not Punjabi but this is just you literally enjoying another culture that's also from India

But are you supportive of the Punjab state? Or are you sitting over here celebrating the independence of India/supporting India who openly is trying has has tried to kill off Punjab?
