@garden.loom: Growing Ficus From a Cutting 🌿✨ One Ficus elastica cutting, one node, and a tiny new root system beginning underneath the substrate. Watching the roots appear before the new plant starts growing is the best part. 🌱 Another simple propagation experiment from GardenLoom, with many more plants still to grow. Which plant should I propagate next? Follow GardenLoom to see the next propagation transformation. 💚 #GardenLoom #FicusElastica #FicusPropagation #PlantPropagation #Gardening

📩 Send this to a friend who loves gardening! 💚 🌿 GROWING FICUS FROM A CUTTING YOU’LL NEED: • Healthy Ficus elastica stem cutting • Clean pruning shears • Small planter • Coco peat • Perlite • Water • Rooting hormone — optional METHOD: 1. Choose a healthy Ficus elastica stem and take a cutting with at least one viable node. 2. Remove unnecessary lower foliage while keeping healthy foliage at the top. 3. Allow the milky latex sap from the fresh cut to stop flowing before continuing. 4. Optional: apply a small amount of rooting hormone to the prepared lower stem. 5. Fill a small planter with a light mixture of coco peat and perlite. 6. Insert the lower portion of the cutting into the mix, making sure the rooting node is correctly positioned in the propagation medium. 7. Gently firm the mix around the cutting so it remains upright. 8. Water the propagation medium evenly. 9. Keep the cutting in warm conditions with bright indirect light while the root system develops. 🌱 10. Maintain light, consistent moisture without keeping the propagation mix permanently saturated. 🌿 WHAT HAPPENS NEXT? New roots gradually emerge from the buried node/stem area and expand through the coco peat and perlite. Once the cutting establishes a functional root system, new above-ground growth can follow. 💡 The cutting must include a viable node — a leaf by itself will not develop into a complete new Ficus plant. 💾 SAVE this propagation method! 💬 COMMENT “FICUS” if you want another plant propagation video! 🌿👇
