Personally I like Shuake but its like a "coulda been" theres no world where in which akechi and ren meet eachother on at the point during their paths that allows them to be together. they are fated to clash on every conceivable timeline because thats the hand fate dealt for them. Regardless if Joker harbors feelings, or if akechi truly loves joker. Theyre doomed to play out the same game of cat and mouse with one of them losing their life at the end of it. If it were to play out any other way it wouldn't be Akechi or Ren. It would be some form of them that doesnt regard their principals. Thats a version that the other wouldnt fall for. So in the end, Joker and Akechi have to be a "coulda been" rather than a can be. So basically, Shuake Doomed Yaoi and Joker moves on and gets with Makoto.
