Great for families, photography, and relaxed walks. 2️⃣ Flume Gorge One of the most beautiful fall experiences in Franconia Notch. Walk through granite walls, waterfalls, covered bridges, and colorful forest scenery. Tickets are required during the season. 3️⃣ Loon Mountain Gondola Ride the gondola to Loon Peak for panoramic White Mountain views. Explore the observation tower, trails, and glacial caves at the summit. 4️⃣ Kancamagus Highway A 34-mile scenic drive through the White Mountains and one of the best fall drives in New England. 🍁🚗 Do not miss: 📍 Sabbaday Falls 📍 Rocky Gorge 📍 Scenic overlooks 5️⃣ Artist Bluff Trail One of New Hampshire’s most iconic fall views overlooking Echo Lake and Cannon Mountain. 🥾 Around 1.5–1.8 miles ⛰️ Easy to moderate Tip: Arrive early. Parking gets extremely busy during peak foliage. 6️⃣ Mount Washington Auto Road Drive toward the highest summit in the Northeast for incredible mountain views. You can drive your own vehicle or take a guided tour. Always check weather and road status before visiting. 7️⃣ Mount Willard Trail A popular family-friendly hike overlooking Crawford Notch. 🥾 Around 3.2 miles round trip ⬆️ Around 900 feet elevation gain 🍂 QUICK TIP Northern New Hampshire usually changes first, followed by the White Mountains, Lakes Region, and southern New Hampshire. For the White Mountains, I would personally target September 29 – October 10, but foliage timing can shift every year.
