12060 pieces of pure architecture! Set was provided by LEGO for the review LEGO Architecture set #21065 Sagrada Família will be released on November 1st, 2026. It consists of 12,060 pieces. What I like: * One of the designers told us: “Please don’t rush, give it justice” - and I completely agree. This is a set where it is worth slowing down and learning some of the history while you build * The instructions are genuinely interesting. There is a lot of information about the building, its architecture and Gaudí’s ideas, so the whole experience feels more like discovering Sagrada Família than simply assembling a huge LEGO set * There are lots of Easter eggs and small details hidden throughout the build, which makes it very rewarding to pay attention instead of rushing through the bags * The build follows the architecture of the real basilica and uses a huge variety of techniques, textures and tiny elements * 12,060 pieces sounds intimidating, but a huge part of that number comes from very small elements. For people like me who build mosaics with thousands of tiny pieces, it honestly doesn’t feel that crazy * Despite the piece count, the finished model is actually quite reasonable to display. It has a huge presence, but its footprint is not nearly as extreme as the number of pieces might suggest * The stained-glass effect adds some beautiful color and contrast inside the otherwise very architectural build What I don’t like: * There is inevitably some repetition when building such a detailed architectural model, especially across similar sections of the façades and towers * This is definitely not a set to build quickly.
