This is set in the 60 years between the Hobbit and Fellowship, yeah? Could this be Frodo's dad before he dies? Maybe a hint on the theory Gollum drowned them looking for Bilbo?

the Hunt for Gollum shouldn't even involve the Shire tbh 🤷🏻♀️the Shire is entirely cut off from that saga, that's why Gandalf doesn't show up for 17 years.

I'm going to Hobbiton in March, and honestly my greatest fear was showing up on the day and being told that the place is closed for shooting the film. So I'm very happy to see they're shooting there now 😂

given andy serkis is using ai in this film, we shouldn't be supporting this. he's used ai for his concept art, as well as going to use it for actor de-aging (cgi already exists). it's really important we don't endorse the use of ai in our films and media

I assume this will start with gandalf telling frodo about how they had to hunt gollum. Cos otherwise they isn't any reason to be in the shire other than to establish the reason for the story

There has been a lot of confusion about chronologically win the hunt forum took place. It occurred over the course of 14 years of the 17 between Bilbo, leaving the ring for Frodo and when Gandolf comes back asking if it is still safe and secret. It was primarily airborne who hunted Gollum, who only knows the name, Baggins and a place called the Shire.

The Hobbiton set has been fully dressed and ready for filming for years now as a tourist attraction. What remains to be seen is how much they will put into new sets. Will they use a lot of CGI?
