@littlkhd9ai: A 5-year-old Texas girl was k*lled Saturday night after someone allegedly opened fire on the vehicle carrying her mother and four siblings, authorities said. Zah’Layah Walter was riding with her mother, Monica Hicks, when the family came under fire near Grant Road and Jones Road in Harris County. According to Hicks, she was driving home from her mother’s house when someone began firing at their car. “All my kids in the back seat were screaming, and they continued to sh*ot in my car,” she told KHOU. Hicks said the vehicle was fired upon at least five times, but she did not realize Zah’Layah had been sh*t until they reached their apartment complex. The little girl was rushed to a hospital, where she was pronounced d*ad. “She was the light of my life,” Hicks said. “That was my baby.” Two of Zah’Layah’s siblings also suffered non-life-threatening inj*ries from shattered glass. Investigators quickly began searching for the person responsible. On Sunday, September 20, authorities arrested 47-year-old Jeremy Porter and charged him with capital m*rder. Harris County Sheriff Ed Gonzalez said detectives used evidence, including automated license plate readers, to identify Porter. He remains in custody at the Harris County Jail. Authorities have described the case as a suspected road-rage incident, but the investigation is still ongoing. A family simply driving home was shattered by a burst of gunfire, leaving a mother grieving the child she called the light of her life. Some moments last seconds—but their consequences last forever. #TrueCrime #TexasNews #Houston #CrimeNews #breakingnews
