i think the logic behind this is, we came from different estado sa buhay, like others may came from “may kaya” that they can afford rice cooker making their rice cooked evenly na walang tutong. and others may have cooked their rice sa apoy by their kalan/kaldero. so it talks about “estado sa buhay”

I think the point here isn’t really about the tutong 😂 It shows their different family setups. “Walang maiiwan na tutong para sa huling kakain” sounds like they eat sabay-sabay, while “sa bahay namin walang tutong” could mean they don’t really have someone eating separately or later. Small detail, but it kinda reflects how their family routines are different.

In my lens, I take this concept in a way that maybe the reason na walang tutong na kanin sa kanila kasi nababantayan nang maayos ang pagsasaing nito. Parang their family is intact and close-knitted, maganda ang family dynamics nila to the point na household chores like that was paid attention to. In contrast sa may kaning tutong na lahat busy tapos to each their own/puro conflicts ang fam dynamics.

Thisss… may ibang family talaga na iba iba ang pag sandok. Kaya kapag nasa ibang bahay ako tinitignan ko if ano itsura ng kanin nila and kung paano sila sumandok dun. Then gagayahin ko din. Idk why iba sa kanila kasi iba din samin. But i’m copying their’s and respecting tradition ng kada bahay.

Sa'min lang po, ah. Sinasabi na, 'sumandok kang pa-ilalim' para 'di mukhang bina-baboy mo 'yung kakainin nung 'di pa kumakain. It's some sort of respect po ba. My mom always told us that some people only want the good part, the surface level kumbaga, then they deliberately leave it looking like a mess. Parang ang pangit daw po kung ganon kang tao. Main take away is you have to own up 'fully' to what you have started. Ikaw may gawa, ikaw nag - umpisa, harapin mo.

pero dugyot kasi kapag naiiwan na lang ay yung ilalim para bang tira-tira na lang kaya hindi nakaugaliang gawin iyon. maliban na din sa baka nga may totoong tapos yun pa yung naiwan sa kanila so halos doble na yung pagiging tira-tira na niya as a thought.

when i was a kid l, specifically grade 2 ako nun, palaging may tutong saing ko yung nangingitim, after weeks sobrang pikon ng mother ko, yung 2 days na tutong na natitira kada saing ko pinakain sakin lahat hanggang sa sumuka ako sa kakakain dahil sayang raw ang kanin pag may tutong kasi wala raw may gusto kumain ng tutong. After that, i perfected my rice, instead na magtiis i believe things like this should be corrected.
