Genuinely asking - how do you do that when you were together for 10 yrs and you find out they had been having an affair with your "best friend" that's married with two kids. The pain, lies, gaslighting, abandonment, deception, the making you question your own reality - it poisons and contaminates every memory. I know there had to have been good - bc we were together for a decade. But it's very difficult to know what was real and what wasn't and who that person even was. It's extremely painful. 💛

I agree. Married for 22 years been divorced for 5 years. I just wish we could’ve co-parented without anger. I had fear of him & he had anger. I wish we could’ve at least been civil so the kids didn’t feel like they had to choose. I still grieve the death of my family. I don’t grieve him but I grieve being a family.

Well when you are in a toxic cycle trying to save your marriage and work on things with someone who isn’t in the same place and is emotionally/mentally abusive that’s hard. I always saw the good keeping me stuck in a place I didn’t deserve to be over and over again!

You know the funny thing is with my ex husband didn’t understand how I was treating him at the end wasn’t because I was in love with him but because I loved him. So when I left him he seemed shocked, because I refused to mistreat him when he was mistreating him. He lied and cheat d and betrayed me and I wasnt doing it to him. So when I left him he thought I would come back to him. But if the only time you treat someone with kindness is when you are happy with them you aren’t a good person
