I reckon try keeping your hair long and growing it out at first then if you don’t like it you can always chop! If you chop it first then you don’t get to try both options if that makes sense!! Hope ur well hehe xx

I was in the same position until August last year. Decided to firm the grow out phase and just rocked it. Bushy on the sides for a while but length did eventually come in & now I can tie it up and the undercut is not visible! It took a year though so be aware if you are gonna commit to it 😅

I’m going through the awkward growing out phase and am still undecided. I’ve used ai to see what I’d look like with different shorter hairstyles. But defo keep growing whilst your unsure and even with it being short gel and a slick brush to even to give the illusion it’s in the bun. You can even just tie the ponytail or bun lower if you do it tight enough you won’t notice it’s not actually attached the hair there

Same problem over here too, I decided to grow my undercut out as it was so high and SO uneven. I planned it so I had no major big events and now it log enough to tie into a low bun. Has been worth it but it's taken time 🫣

My partner had an undercut for years, she got me to shave it when needed and it actually got higher an higher. She completely romped it short. Its like shaved at the bottom and a choppy style at the top. She was worried but actually really suits it. Was the only way to sort the bodged undercut🤣🤣x

low pony hides my botched undercut like its not even there. i loved my undercut at first then the one time i went to a different barber its now terrible and i hate it. im in the process of growing mine out and then maybe in the future getting a lower one i will actually like

I had an undercut just at the back and I just had to commit to the growing out process which wasn’t easy 🙈 I would suggest growing it out and seeing how much you can hide with tying it as a low bun

i grew mine out throughout winter and got lots of hates. barbers butchered me. now I am back to the small bit at the back. dont cut it. try grow it and maybe get a blunt cut

Honestly was the best decision to grow out my undercut. Once it was long enough at the side to put in a tiny plastic hairband I would then use a bobby pin and clip it up so it blended with the rest of my hair up 👏🏼 DO NOT CUT IT ALL OFF! 👏🏼

I had the same problem. My undercut got so big and completely uneven. I went short, best thing ever! For me, going short didn’t feel that different. I was use to no hair underneath anyways! 👍🏻

Personally as a barber myself, I would go shorter, undercut is awful for years trying to come back and you’ll end up just getting it cut back off 😂 it’s never ending. However you’ll actually be really surprised at how much you’ll suit short hair. But maybe go for a longer style and blended so that the under will be no more if you want rid of it. Plus hair grows back! Go for it 💪🏼
