ARMYs started discussing these issues online and expressing their disappointment. Criticism was directed at how the performance was handled—not at Jungkook, not at BTS, and certainly not as an excuse to disrespect anyone. However, when The Woody Show discussed the backlash, the situation took a completely different turn. Instead of simply addressing the criticism, ARMYs were referred to as “losers,” and Jungkook’s name was also mocked and turned into a joke. And this is where the problem is. You can disagree with fans. You can respond to criticism. You can even defend the event or explain what happened. But mocking an artist’s name and insulting an entire fandom is completely unnecessary. ARMYs have always shown BTS love and respect, and voicing concerns about a performance does not suddenly make that respect disappear.
