Down the ladder he built the inside out: insulated floor, insulated boarded walls, a rustic kitchen, warm lights off a portable power station, sofa and rug. Then he broke through the right wall and dug a second room straight into the earth — propped it, trenched it, ran a drain pipe, gravel, membrane, insulated and tiled it into a full bathroom.
