For years, their grandmother now in her 80s told her grandsons she had old Pokémon packs somewhere in her house and even claimed she had a few “Charizards.” They assumed she was remembering the same beat-up childhood cards they had played with decades ago. She wasn’t. The brothers finally searched her house and initially found a box filled with old Pokémon collectibles, including Burger King Poké Balls, gold-plated cards, figures, starter sets and other memorabilia. They figured that had to be everything. But Grandma insisted there were packs somewhere. Pasted markdown.md So they kept searching. Eventually, one brother looked underneath a difficult-to-see TV cabinet and spotted a couple of boxes. Inside were the packs Grandma had been talking about, Charizards, a huge binder containing Unlimited cards, 1st Edition Fossil and Jungle cards, vintage Pokémon products, Digimon cards, Topps Pokémon cards — and even old eBay receipts showing what she originally paid. What they never knew was that she was secretly buying EXTRA packs and cards and putting them away specifically for their future. For decades, the brothers had absolutely no idea she had saved them.
