FIRST AND FOREMOST 👇🏼 squashing this before anyone has the chance to comment… NO we are not trust fund babies, NO we did not get financial help from loved ones, YES we are completely self made and worked our as*es off in order to make this happen :) ok thanks that’s all hehe (Btw there is absolutely nothing wrong with getting help or having a trust fund, however that is not our situation) I am so beyond excited (and grateful and terrified) to share this monumental accomplishment with you guys!!! When we first moved out to the west coast over 8 years ago, we had pretty much nothing to our names. Sentry had a pretty good amount of student loans and I had just finished my first year as a nurse working in Alabama making $23/hr (criminal btw) and we used every single penny in our savings to make the trek out west. We both worked SO hard and spent as little as possible in order to make it work out here and had genuinely never been happier!!! Insert our first visit to Lake Tahoe in 2018… oohhhh boy oh boy was that a mistake because we fell in love immediately. We found ourselves driving there every single weekend just in order to spend 48 hours in the most inspiring place we’d ever been!! I remember sleeping in the back of our car while LOLing about the prices of homes here and how we’d genuinely never be able to afford it. The next 5 years we lived in a van saving as much money as possible. I was travel nursing and Sentry was literally building vans in campgrounds while living OUT of our van lol. Flash forward to 2023, Sentry found an amazing opportunity for work in the Lake Tahoe area!! Something we NEVER thought would be possible. The second he got it we came straight “home”!!! We rented a house our first winter here and then moved back into the van in the spring. We quickly realized full-time van living in Tahoe was… not exactly sustainable lol, so we started looking for another place to rent. And then we saw our perfect beautiful little A-frame on Zillow. And somehow WE GOT HER!!!! It was definitely a financial stretch for us, but we took a massive leap of faith and just hoped we could make it work. And then we kept HUSTLING We worked our normal jobs. We poured everything we had into our side quests and we took chances on things that scared the crap out of us. We saved. We sacrificed. And somewhere along the way, a few of those crazy little dreams actually started working. Flash forward to 2026… We weren’t planning on buying another house for another like 2-5 years, buuuut the perfect house just presented herself to us and HOW WERE WE SUPPOSED TO SAY NO once again it felt completely insane!!! But so did moving across the country with basically nothing. So did living in a van for five years. So did moving to Tahoe. So did buying our A-frame. And somehow every scary leap we’ve taken has brought us here!!!!! SOOOOOOOO… WE BOUGHT OUR FOREVER HOME IN LAKE TAHOE 😭😭😭😭😭 And I really don't share all of this to be like LOOK WHAT WE DID!!!! I share it because there were so many years where our life looked absolutely nothing like this. But we never gave up!! I am SO proud of us. I am so grateful for every weird little decision that led us here. And I am so freaking excited for this next chapter. Thanks for being here 🥹🏡😭 - @operation.adventure
