@mrmbb333: The water came up fast overnight in western North Carolina. Heavy storms dumped 2.5 to 4 inches of rain, pushing water across Main Street in Chimney Rock and sending the Rocky Broad River rapidly higher. Then the sirens started. People near the river were told to move to higher ground as Dogwood RV Park was evacuated and floodwater moved through areas around town. And it may not be over. More rain is expected later today and tonight. This is the same mountain community devastated by Hurricane Helene and still rebuilding.
