Is there a possibility that the teacher assaulted both Amy and Jane Doe and that’s why their stories are similar because he was a predator on the prowl in the school? One never forgot and the other mentally buried it 🤷🏽‍♀️

Your question at the end is my reminder why I’m not good with words!! I can’t see a spin on it!! Maybe something on the way she said between childhood and 21!! Because she is sure about the 21 incident when she was in London?

It’s important to note the variations in her account across the different interviews she gave. In her interview with SheMD, she stated that she gave the practitioner a specific timeframe, essentially saying, “I need to explore what happened between this age and this age.” There was no mention of her already knowing that the trauma involved sexual abuse. Every interview has variants

Blame an editorial decision - she was vague in the initial description of her hunch with the practitioner in the book because they were holding the “juicy” reveal of sexual trauma for a later chapter. She and/or editors/publishers/whatever wanted to keep readers invested by making them wait for specifics.

Not saying it’s the truth, but I’d square the circle by saying she suspected the theme (s trauma) but was meaning she was unclear on the details. I’d say that when she says she experienced a lot of abuse she was meaning that in general she felt she had this trauma but still didn’t remember the details. Again not saying it’s plausible but I would lean into the fact that she wouldn’t realistically go into the weeds with everyone she spoke to in order to clarify what details she was assuming versus what she knew/didn’t know for sure. With each person she shared only a portion of the context.

Does she only remember the SA from the family friend on the MDMA also? Or did she remember that? I haven’t read the book so didn’t even realize there were multiple SA’s

She prob sees herself as a mastermind, but she’s actually muddying the waters

I love how, during her Oprah interview, Oprah had to correct her and point out, “But you didn’t know what the secret was.” Amy conceded and then clarified that she didn’t know what the secret was, but said she had told the practitioner that she needed to explore her childhood and sexual trauma. She went on in the interview as though she had always known, and Oprah was basically like, “Hold up you didn’t know that in the book.” 😂

Don’t forget the inconsistent statements that she said in her book versus what she told Martha Stewart in the podcast that is no longer available online 🤔

The only thing I’m clear about is that if she was not wealthy and couldn’t write a big juicy check to her lawyers, they most likely would have bailed on her by now because of all the versions she has spun. “Oh, what a tangled web we weave, when first we practice to deceive!”

Because if they are recovered memories she has the burden of proof, no? I remember you saying that it was a good catch from JD’s lawyers. So she had to do this change to switch the burden of proof?
