I had a pcp that drug me through the mud and I almost lost my job because he wouldn’t listen to my concerns. Took me off work. I had a huge concern with my thyroid and had to have surgery. My blood pressure was through the roof. I ended up having a second opinion and finally have lost 100 pounds when they listened to me. Two years later I stand up for myself to have a total knee replacement. Advocate for yourself queen!

I have been saying for years that something was wrong with my body and told repeatedly by multiple doctors that there was nothing wrong with me. My co-worker urged me to switch practices and find another doctor. I finally did and turns out I have cysts in my uterus. I feel relieved I was not crazy and knew something was wrong but also very frustrated how many other doctors completely blew me off.

That would be my last visit there. I had that with a gastro doc I had for years. the next visit I asked him if he was ok. come to find out he had to tell an earlier patient that she had stage 4 cancer and he apologized and said he never should have let it affect him and I said well if it didn't affect you I wouldn't think you would be a good doctor.

I had a doctor literally sigh and annoyed as I asked follow up questions. I asked her during the appointment to please be nicer. She slowed down and did become more focused. But geez! I stuck with her a few more visits but recently switched.

Everyone needs to remember you MUST be your own advocate when it comes to medicine. If you believe something is wrong with your body...it might be. You should never stop until you get help.

Good luck Dylan, I too have had this experience, have been feeling terrible for 4 years and dismissed. Found a different Dr this past summer for something else and he listened to everything. Found out I have an Auto Immune among a few other things. Agreed good Dr’s do exist, but can be hard to find.
