The comment about sharing financial information with your children almost brought me to tears. My parents have no idea how much stress it caused me in elementary school. Sometimes I would not eat lunch because I thought it was saving them money 🤦🏾‍♀️

If I raise my voice, that equals to me losing my temper?

What are things you did to keep yourself from raising your voice/yelling at your kids? I grew up in a household that did that a lot so I find myself being prone to that with my kids. But what’s odd is I’m not like that with anyone else, including my husband. My kids are the last people I’d want to yell at, but somehow I’m the most prone to raising my voice at them- probably because I was yelled at as a kid a lot

I also don’t want my kids to know about any financial struggles. I did as a kid, and it really scarred me. To this day I can remember situations about money. It was very stressful.

My daughter gets her hair done every couple of weeks. I started taking her out for ice cream afterwards. It’s become our little tradition. Trying to find small ways to create meaningful memories.

Gosh my daughter is 3 and a half. I never yelled at her when she was 2 but this age is the first time we’re I see it happening in me. I try so hard but I have blown up a few times and I have apologized. I need to work on it. I don’t want that for my daughter.

Another great video! The financial one is so true.🎯 I try not to talk about that stuff but my daughter knows we've been struggling and I know that because i notice with things she says. I tell her not to worry about it but I think it stresses her out. Like sometimes if we say we're going to get some food she'll say no we need to save money for bills. And we've recently started going to a food pantry and a place that gives kids food after school, but I told her it's just a place where they give stuff away. (which i don't think is a lie). Today I saw that our local salvation army shared that applications were available for Christmas. And it made me realize I don't even know what she would want this year. So I asked her, what do you think you'll put on your Christmas list? And she said oh I don't really need anything. And I knew she was saying that because she's thinking about us spending money. 💔 then she said she wanted money so she could save it. I know I have to do better, and do it asap so she doesn't think about these things. security is so important for kids. Love your videos, always get such good advice, it's like listening to a friend. ❤️

Yes! My husband and I do not yell, scream, hit, threaten to hit, or threaten to throw away toys or other items. Ever. Some days it’s really hard to have our tempers under control and there are moments where we slip up but we always apologize after and talk about what we should’ve done instead. That way our kids know it’s never okay for someone to behave that way (including them).

I agree but also have the disagreement with the repair in front of them so they can see how to work things out if there is a disagreement in their relationships. I came from a yelling household and my husband never saw his parents argue so both extremes so it was difficult when we had disagreements as adults and how to handle it

Yes I apologize a lot when I mess up. I have ADD and can get triggered easily. It’s hard to regulate yourself first but singing or humming seems to help me remember to stop and breathe before reacting

Thank you! Please could you speak more on finances, teaching children to value money, how you manage boundaries about the cost of certain items and ensuring they are not too materialistic. Thank you
