@yorkshire.fossils: A HUGE shale landslide had exposed an incredible collection of Jurassic fossil-bearing rocks! 🏝️ Amongst them, our first discovery was a stone containing two ammonites — but rather than risk damaging such a promising specimen, we took it home to carefully prepare using **pneumatic air tools**. ⚒️🔬 Then we found another stone and decided to split it open right there on the beach… revealing a beautiful Dactylioceras ammonite! 😍🦕 These fossils are around 185 million years old**, and discoveries like this are exactly what makes fossil hunting so exciting. One specimen carefully prepared at home, another revealed right on the beach — two very different ways of uncovering Jurassic history! 🌅 Thanks for following our adventures and supporting Yorkshire Fossils! 🦖🦑📍 Yorkshire Fossils operates in full compliance with UK fossil collecting regulations. We encourage everyone to research protected areas before collecting, as regulations may vary by location. 😊🐊🔨 #Fossil #Ammonite #Dinosaur #Beach #fyp
