Pump and pours really negatively affected my mental health when I was struggling with undersupplying and exclusively pumping 😭 I'd frantically search for helpful content on TikTok and Insta and all my algorithms would serve me was pump and pours by people with an oversupply. That combined with the stress of our feeding issues and hormones deeply impacted me in quite a dark way. Now I'm out the other side and weaning my baby onto cows milk I have been wondering if at least some of these people were faking the amounts 😭

I'm not gonna lie to you over producing is very real. I was an over producer. I used to pump about 15oz in 20 minutes

my first baby i had a massive over supply for like the first 6months. I once pumped 8 oz from one boob in like 5 minutes and I swear I could have kept going. my son would choke on the force of my let down for like 3 months it would come out so hard. the next 2 kids my body made just the right amount, seemed to work it out

Pumping for new baby is very different than pumping for an 8mo EBF. As they get older they eat more, so getting more per pump is more common. (Reminder to moms of young babies feeling frustrated that they can’t pump more)
