@hebas_haven: I recently had the opportunity to give a talk at a local Islamic Institute on how to create emotional attraction in your marriage You can have a respectful, functional marriage and still feel deeply lonely Without emotional attraction: 🍍You can start to feel like you’re living with a roommate rather than having your best friend by your side 🍍You can sit on the couch together every night and still feel miles apart 🍍You become business partners running the household. The conversations revolve around the kids, chores, bills, errands and what’s for dinner… but You don’t feel truly seen 🍍You find it difficult to be vulnerable with him or express what’s really on your heart because you’re afraid of being judged or misunderstood. One of the concepts I shared in this talk was the Golden Coins Jar🏆 Think of your emotional connection like a jar of golden coins In every interaction, you are doing one of three things: ✨ Adding to the jar ✨ Staying neutral ✨ Taking from the jar Most marriages don’t lose their emotional intimacy because of one massive blowup They slowly erode through the little, unconscious withdrawals that happen over and over again So the first step isn’t always adding more Sometimes, it’s learning how to stop the withdrawals and return to neutral before you can begin building again And this is something many of us were never taught Unless you grew up watching a healthy, deeply connected marriage modeled for you, you may have never learned what emotional intimacy actually looks like in practice I had to learn this myself in my own 9 year marriage (After I had done alot of withdrawing from the jar🙈) And now, it’s one of the skills I teach my clients inside of my work with them If you want to learn one simple way to start creating more emotional connection with your husband, DM me “EBOOK” and I’ll send you my free MarriageFairy Ebook🧚‍♀️
