It’s been 3 weeks since an avoidant ripped my heart out. I literally had a surgery where I was given a 50/50 chance to ever wake up again and the first two weeks post breakup were the toughest of my life. But, I’ve been doing the work. Quit all substances, cried more than I had in the last decade combined, sat in my silence and talked to God…even analyzed my flaws and shortcomings. There is beauty in the pain. God is molding you. I’m starting to feel better than ever. I used to weigh 630 pounds. I’ve lost about 300 and this obstacle is what I needed to lock in and finish the journey. If you’re in this situation, especially as a man, I beg you to sit in the silence. Cry. Talk to God. Lean on your support system. Iron SHARPENS iron.

drowning out the noise only created more noise, anxiety, depression, anger, feeling sick all of the time. 02/13/2027 will mark 5 years sober. I've never felt better!

I feel this one in my bones. Three years of stripping away the noise and finally learning that being alone with your own thoughts isn’t something to run from. It’s where you start finding yourself again.
