Five gay romances that deserve way more than they've gotten: 1. WELCOMING THE RECLUSE by Nora Phoenix. Mac is a veteran who moved to the top of a mountain to keep everyone safe from him, including the teenage son he hasn't seen in years. Arek is the local doctor raising twins. Slow burn, hurt/comfort, two grown men figuring it out. It's book 7 but it reads fine on its own. 2. PROJECT HERO by Briar Prescott. Andy wants a full makeover so his best friend will finally notice him. Law agrees to help, in exchange for tutoring. You can see where this is going and it still works. 3. CUT TO THE FEELING by A.J. Truman and M.A. Wardell. A Broadway dancer gets dumped, then finds out his ex sublet their apartment to a stuffy professor who won't move out. Neither will he. It's also actually funny. 4. ONE REASON TO STAY by Ryder O'Malley. A comic shop owner in small-town Maine is planning the town's first comic con when a single dad walks in looking for something his kid will actually read. Burly, geeky, almost no angst. 5. THEN THE STARS FALL by Brandon Witt. A widowed rancher with three kids and the vet who moves back to town and doesn't want anything to do with a man carrying that much. This one's the heavy hitter. Grief runs all the way through it.
