Rewatching the series recently, they had a really nice slow burn. You got 3 seasons of building up an unwavering and rock solid friendship, and then the way Korra almost exclusively went to Asami for comfort in season 4 💋👌 their dynamic for that last season is heart wrenching, but just subtle and platonic enough to get under censors and become so much more in the comics
