For the girls, take your sick leave when you are pregnant. I’m from Canada so my mat leave is already 12-18months but I took a month of sick leave before that with my 2nd pregnancy and 2 months with my 1st. If your sick leave is not paid out when you quit, take advantage of it. ESPECIALLY pregnancy during that last trimester when it is so hard. Companies don’t need weekly sick notes when it’s about pregnancy and there is no reward for suffering through a pregnancy. I’m union so they couldn’t lay me off on my mat leave but I know TONS of women that got laid off during their mat leave. Take care of yourself

I worked one day a week for a small buisness, my eye swelled up and I couldn't see text my boss the night before and offered to come in another day that week, she was super disorganised anyway but especially this day and decided that if I was going to be unreliable (first time calling in had urgent care records to back me up) that she didn't have the money to pay me and I could get lost 🤣
