@npr: Country singer Ella Langley has set a new all-time "Billboard" chart record, taking the throne from Mariah Carey — though perhaps not for long. This week, Langley’s “Choosin’ Texas” is, once again, the No. 1 song in the country, a feat it's achieved for 23 straight weeks — something that’s never been done before. Last winter, Mariah Carey reached 22 weeks at No. 1 with “All I Want for Christmas Is You.” That song returned to the top of the charts during the most recent holiday season, and it’s a hit every December, so Langley has her work cut out for her in the weeks to come. If “Choosin’ Texas” can’t rack up a bunch more weeks on the top of the charts, Langley may soon find herself regifting the all-time record right back to pop music’s Queen of Christmas.
