@interestingengineering: Deep Fission has partnered with Fort Myers drilling contractor Youngquist Brothers to develop the deep, large-diameter boreholes its Gravity reactor needs, about one mile underground. In a September 3 test, the pair lowered a full-size 30-inch prototype reactor canister into a 34-inch borehole to about 100 feet and retrieved it using commercially available drilling equipment.

I am really concerned about this , the problem who’s is goin g to do the cleanup when this company closes or gets absorbed into another entity. Who is going to pull that reactor or maintain it.
